About
Hi, I'm Tian Yang. I'm based in Shenzhen, China.
I started this blog because most English-language China travel content covers the same five cities. But China has hundreds of incredible places that never make it into guidebooks — cities with amazing food, stunning nature, and fascinating history that most foreign visitors never hear about.
I travel frequently across China, and I always prefer the local experience: the breakfast stall with the longest queue, the hiking trail the aunties recommended, the town that doesn't even have an English Wikipedia page yet.
This blog is my way of sharing those places with you.
What you'll find here
City guides for places like Chenzhou, Jingdezhen, Liuzhou, and Tongren. Restaurant recommendations in Shenzhen. Practical tips for navigating China as a foreigner — from mobile payments to train tickets. And the occasional story about something weird or wonderful I stumbled into along the way.
